Corporate Social Investing (CSI)

Our Purpose

The purpose of our Corporate Social Investment (CSI) programme is to make a palpable difference to the lives of those most in need, and - in doing so - contribute to positive change in South Africa. A secondary purpose is to provide Futuregrowth employees with a platform to “live” our brand and further enrich their own lives by doing good for others.

Our CSI Budget and Focus Areas

Futuregrowth allocates 1% of its after-tax profits to CSI. This is supplemented by some directors’ fees (of staff who are directors of investee companies) and the proceeds from the Futuregrowth annual auction, when gifts received by the company are auctioned to staff.

An internal CSI Committee sources, evaluates and approves requests for funding or other help, and manages the CSI budget. Members also visit the projects considered and supported, to ensure that the support requested (financial or otherwise) is valid and will be put to optimal use. 

Our geographical focus includes areas that committee members are able to visit personally, so that they can conduct a thorough due diligence process on proposed projects and monitor those approved on an ongoing basis. We will, however, consider projects that have a regional impact across the country in collaboration with trustworthy partners who are able to do the due diligence and monitoring on our behalf.
